What Is Super Bond T?

SikaCeram®-428 Super Bond T is a two-component, high performance, elastomeric polyurethane resin adhesive. It’s specially formulated to provide strong adhesion on deformable surfaces with zero vertical slip, making it ideal for demanding tile installations where both flexibility and durability are required.

Packaging, Coverage & Handling

• The mixing ratio is Part A : Part B = 92 : 8 by weight.
• Minimum bed thickness around 1.5 mm; maximum recommended about 4 mm (for standard applications).
• Pot life (usable time after mixing) is about 60 minutes (for small sample), with an open time of approximately 80 minutes under typical conditions.
• Grouting and foot traffic usage timelines depend on ambient and substrate temperatures: walls may be ready for grouting in about 12 hours; floors foot-trafficked in about 24 hours; full usage in around 3 days.

Application Guidelines & Best Practices

• Only for experienced professionals due to its two-component nature.
• Surfaces must be sound, clean, dry, free of loose material, dust, oils or contaminants.
• Mix both parts fully to a homogeneous paste, ensuring sides and bottoms of mixing bucket are scrapped.
• Apply using appropriate trowel. For large tiles or thin tiles, employ back-butter technique to ensure full contact.
• Remove any skin that forms; if adhesive surface has formed skin, re-apply fresh mix.
• Protect fresh installation from direct sun, wind, or rain for initial period to avoid defects.
• Clean tools while fresh; once cured, adhesive is difficult to remove.
